Description

This hike to the alpine pastures and chalets of Salvadon starts from the hamlet of Le Crot, near Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. The forest path climbs steadily, offering superb views of the Fiz chain, Dent de Véreux and Pointe Rousse.

As you move forward, you enter the Sixt-Passy nature reserve. At an altitude of 1,715 metres, the chalets form a picturesque hamlet nestled at the foot of the Avoudrues, Pointe de Bellegarde and Pointe
de Sambet. These mountain pastures are still farmed today.
After your hike, don't miss a visit to Ferme des Tines, in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Here you can discover and buy local products, including "Salvadon", an alpine cheese made on the mountain pastures.
