The Two Lakes Loop
Description
One of the most beautiful hikes in Les Carroz, with the Vernant and Airon lakes and a breathtaking panorama from the top of the Tête des Saix.
Tour around the Pointe de Corbalanche to discover the Combe Enverse and the Lac de Vernant (trout fishing), then climb to the Tête des Saix (2118m), the highest point in Les Carroz, with panoramic views of the Mont-Blanc chain and the Haut-Giffre and Aravis massifs. Then down into the combe de l'Airon with its lake and mountain pasture farm (restaurant and cheese shop in season: +33 (0)4 50 90 33 84 / +33 (0)6 50 32 52 54).
Outside gondola opening dates, the hike can be made from the Airon bend (about 8km towards Flaine - 8th hairpin bend after Les Molliets).
