"Alpage de la Vieille" signposted summer trail
Description
A fun family walk to the Alpage de la Vieille where the children can see goats and sheep and perhaps a few marmots! Can be accessed by chair lift.
After crossing a wetland and skirting the Fontanettes chalet, the route takes you to Les Feuillerats, where the atmosphere becomes more alpine. The ascent continues to the Croix des 7 Frères, the high point of the walk, offering an exceptional panorama of the Giffre and lower Arve valleys.
Since last summer, the Morillon gondola has been open, offering an environmentally-friendly and convenient alternative to the Morillon Les Esserts ski resort, perched at an altitude of 1100 meters. In just 7 minutes, it links the village to the summits, allowing holidaymakers to enjoy the mountains to the full. Get on board for a breath of fresh air at just €2 per pedestrian!
With young children, we recommend the chairlift, which operates in summer. The chairlift reaches higher than the mountain pasture, so you'll have to walk downhill to reach the farm.
Pricing
Free of charge. Free on foot but there is a charge for the chair lift.
