Description

A fun family walk to the Alpage de la Vieille where the children can see goats and sheep and perhaps a few marmots! Can be accessed by chair lift.
Start point: Morillon 1100 Duration: 2 hrs 30 to get there. With very young children, we recommend the chair lift which operates in summer. The descent takes around 1 hr 30. Difference in altitude: 500m Altitude at start: 1,100m Altitude at finish: 1,600m Map reference: Walking map can be requested from the Tourist Office Pushchair access: no Type of terrain: Mountain trail and route through undergrowth. Shady for most of the way. Pleasant in very hot weather. Level of the walk: - Family walk (300 to 600m difference in altitude/less than 2 to 4 hrs walking) A few animals roaming free (goats and cows), many flowers in June, July and August. A few marmots in the mountain pasture. Keep your eyes and ears open. Panorama of the Giffre valley and the low valley of the Arve. Mountain pasture products can be purchased. Possibility of traditional mountain meal at the farm or at the chalet restaurant at the top of the chair lift Sairon.
