Description

Watercolor.
Exhibition open during library hours.

Emma Cowin arrived in France in 1982 to pursue art studies in Paris, where she developed her artistic sensibility, technique, and a keen eye for composition and color. Having lived in the Haute-Savoie region since 1987, she settled in Samoëns in 2020. After a long hiatus from painting due to family and professional commitments, Emma Cowin took up watercolor painting in 2025 and currently studies under an instructor in Paris.

Her subjects are varied, yet her primary aim is to capture atmosphere through the interplay of light and shadow, paying special attention to color harmony. The exhibited works feature both urban and rural landscapes—depicted in snow, at sunset, or in the rain—as well as subjects such as pedestrians, boats, horses, sheep, a swan, and even a bicycle.

Visitors are welcome to view the exhibition during the media library's opening hours.
