"The Alps in Light": photography exhibition by Frédéric MARGRY
Description
Frédéric Margry is exhibiting his photographic series "The Alps in Light," depicting mountain landscapes in black and white.
Free admission during library opening hours.
Exhibition organized by the Criou Livres association.
Originally from Brittany, Frédéric Margry was quickly drawn to the beauty of the mountains. That's why, in 2018, he decided to become a nomad and traveled the Massif Central and then the Pyrenees, camera slung over his shoulder. After a few months on the road, he settled permanently in the Alps where he alternates between teaching and his passion. The mountains have become for him a place of meditation, meditation, and above all, contemplation. He loves the great outdoors, far from the city, stress, and noise. Up there, time stands still. The altitude and the peaks allow him to refocus and live in the present moment.
Presentation of the "The Alps in Light" series:
"This series is the result of a several-month adventure in the heart of the Chamonix Valley. The mountains, which have become my home, have been my main source of inspiration. Hiking the steep trails with my equipment on my back, I was able to capture the valley's high peaks while waiting for the unique light. Choosing black and white for my mountain photographs allows me to enhance the play of light, textures, and contrasts, offering a timeless and refined vision of the landscapes. Without the distraction of color, the eye focuses on the very essence of the relief, the depth of the shadows, and the softness of the mists. This approach highlights the raw power of nature and invites a more intimate and sensitive contemplation of the peaks." Frédéric Margry.
The exhibition is open to the public during the library's opening hours.
