Read-aloud workshop

The Criou Livres association, a partner of the municipal library, offers several regular activities, including a read-aloud workshop.
The read-aloud workshop takes place on the third Tuesday of the month, from 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., from October to June.

Starting in October 2026, the Crioulivres association is offering a read-aloud workshop led by Jacques Lelong.
The workshop will take place on the last Tuesday of every month from 6 PM to 8:00 PM.
The primary goal is to learn the art of reading aloud to an audience, focusing on clear diction, vocal projection, eye contact, and using theatrical presence to enhance the text.
Following an initial introductory session, two or three sessions will be dedicated to exercises designed to help participants improve their reading skills.
There will also be time spent learning how to break down texts for multiple voices—voices that may complement, overlap, or intersperse with one another. Participants will also discuss how to select speakers based on the specific sections of text assigned to them.
To put these skills into practice, a reading performance will be developed during rehearsals and subsequently presented as part of the events organized by Crioulivres at the Samoëns media library.
No prior experience is required; all that is needed is a desire to read in public and share stories—whether heartwarming, funny, or even scary.

Participation in the reading club is free, subject to membership in the Crioulivres association (€10/year).
