Paragliding progression course

Les Hirondailes paragliding school accompanies you step by step in your development as a young paraglider.

Objective of this course: Obtain your initial pilot's license!
Level required: to have completed an "Initiation" course.

On the program:

Checking skills - Seeking autonomy :

• Back and front launch depending on wind conditions
• Autonomous heading and drift management
• Positioning in the cone of evolution and loss of altitude (radio guided)
• Landing in PTU and/or PTS/8 (radio guided)

Ears": set-up and piloting:

• Positioning hands on kit or line to make ears
• Fitting the ears
• Change of direction
• Managing altitude loss and setting up the circuit
• Finishing, releasing and flaring

Back riser control :

• Positioning hands on risers
• Changes of direction
• Managing loss of altitude and starting the circuit
• Guided and autonomous landing with rear risers

Towards autonomy on known sites :

• Manage the different phases of flight (takeoff, flight, landing) in autonomy (radio silence)
• Discover dynamic and thermal lift

Theory lessons :

• In-depth study of flight mechanics
• In-depth study of aerology in different flight sectors
• Air regulations

To take this course, you will need :

• A medical certificate (less than 1 month old) stating that you have no contraindications to paragliding, or a valid FFVL license.
• Good footwear (hiking boots)
• Warm clothing (windproof)
• Sunglasses
• Small gloves
