Being smart, saving your energy and planning your route are the golden rules of ice climbing. But beyond the technical aspects, which are quickly acquired, spending a day in a timeless, unreal world makes ice fall climbing an unforgettable experience. Ice climbing is also an excellent preparation for winter mountaineering and remains accessible, as long as you do not start off with stalactites, columns and other vertical frozen forms.
